Heliosphere OS is a smart TV operating system built on Android and customized from the ground up by the Helios Universal Group technology team. It is not a skin or a launcher on top of someone else's platform — it is a fully configured, fully branded Android-based TV environment designed to deliver the complete Heliosphere experience the moment a user turns on their screen.
The system ships with everything a viewer needs already installed and ready. No setup required. No searching the app store before you can watch. Just power on and start streaming.

Built on Android — Powered by Heliosphere
Heliosphere OS runs on Android, which means it inherits the stability, hardware compatibility, and developer ecosystem of one of the world's most widely deployed operating systems. But the experience users see is entirely Heliosphere — a custom home screen, a custom UI, and a curated set of pre-installed apps that put the Heliosphere platform front and center.
Building on Android also means the system is hardware-agnostic. It can run on streaming sticks, set-top boxes, and smart TV chipsets — and will eventually power the dedicated Heliosphere hardware device currently in development.

What's Built Into Heliosphere OS
Every Heliosphere OS device ships with a full suite of pre-installed applications and integrations. Users do not need to configure anything to access any of it.
Heliosphere Pre-Installed
The Heliosphere streaming app is built directly into the OS home screen — Helios originals, live channels, and the full content library are one click away from boot.
Pre-Installed Streaming Apps
Major streaming services including Netflix and others come pre-installed alongside Heliosphere — so every viewer has their full entertainment lineup without any setup.
Google Live TV — Integrated
Google Live TV channels are built directly into the system, giving users access to free live broadcast television without any additional hardware, antenna, or subscription.
Free Pre-Installed Live Channels
In addition to Google Live TV, Heliosphere OS ships with free pre-installed live channel packages — curated linear content that plays without a login or paywall.
Full Google Play Store
Users have access to the complete Google Play Store directly on the TV home screen — any app available on Android TV can be downloaded and installed instantly.
Featured Movies Section
A curated featured movies section on the home screen surfaces new and notable titles from the Heliosphere library and partner content — no scrolling required to find something great.
AI Integration — Coming Soon
Heliosphere OS will integrate AI-powered content discovery, personalized recommendations, and smart search — helping viewers find exactly what they want faster than any traditional browse interface.

First Look — What We've Built So Far
The screenshots throughout this post show the current development state of Heliosphere OS. The home screen, app launcher, live TV integration, Google Play Store access, and Heliosphere content experience are all fully functional. What you are seeing is a working system, not a concept or mockup.
The remaining development work is focused on AI integration, interface refinement, user functions, and the packaging work needed to prepare the OS for the dedicated hardware version.

Development Status
Heliosphere OS — Build Progress
The Hardware Version
Heliosphere OS will not only run as software — it will power a dedicated Heliosphere hardware device currently in development. The hardware version will be a purpose-built Android TV device running Heliosphere OS out of the box, giving viewers a single piece of hardware that delivers the complete Heliosphere experience the moment they plug it in.
The hardware device will include everything already built into the OS — Heliosphere pre-installed, major streaming apps, Google Live TV, free live channels, the Google Play Store, and AI discovery — in a dedicated box designed specifically for Heliosphere. More details on the hardware product will be announced as development progresses.
What Comes Next
Heliosphere OS development is running in parallel with the broader platform expansion to Samsung, Roku, and Apple. Each of those efforts gets Heliosphere onto devices people already own. The OS and the hardware version are the longer play — the foundation for a dedicated Heliosphere device that users will buy specifically to get this experience.
Updates on the hardware device, the AI integration, and the public release timeline will be posted here as each milestone is reached. Follow the Helios Universal Group blog to stay current.
