Helios Universal Group is announcing the next phase of Heliosphere's platform expansion. The company is actively developing the Heliosphere experience for Samsung Smart TV, Roku, and the Apple ecosystem โ€” including Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad. These additions will significantly expand the number of devices on which Heliosphere is available and the total audience the platform can reach.

Combined, Samsung, Roku, and Apple represent hundreds of millions of active devices globally. When Heliosphere launches on all three, anyone who watches television or uses a mobile device will have a path to the platform regardless of the hardware they own.

Why These Platforms

Each of the three new platforms addresses a gap in the current Heliosphere device footprint:

Samsung Smart TV

Samsung is the world's largest smart TV manufacturer by market share. A Samsung app means Heliosphere is available pre-installed or one click away for a large portion of smart TV owners who have never connected a streaming stick or external device to their television. Samsung's Tizen operating system powers a massive installed base of living room screens globally โ€” getting onto that platform is one of the highest-leverage distribution moves in consumer streaming.

Roku

Roku is one of the most widely used streaming platforms in the United States, with tens of millions of active accounts across Roku streaming sticks, Roku TV sets, and the Roku Ultra box. Roku users are highly engaged streamers who use the platform specifically to discover and watch content โ€” making the Roku Channel Store one of the most valuable places an independent streaming service can establish a presence.

Apple TV & iOS

Apple represents the most significant missing piece in the current Heliosphere mobile strategy. HelioVision and HelioVision+ are currently available on Android and Google TV via Google Play, but iPhone and iPad users have had no dedicated Heliosphere app. The iOS launch changes that. An Apple TV app also expands the platform's television footprint beyond Google TV and Samsung into Apple's premium TV hardware.

What This Means for Heliosphere

When these three platforms launch, Heliosphere will be available across every major streaming device category without exception โ€” Android phones, Google TV, Windows desktop, Samsung Smart TV, Roku, Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, and any web browser. There will be no significant screen or device type that does not have a Heliosphere option.

This is the culmination of the direct-distribution strategy at the center of Helios Universal Group's platform approach. Instead of relying on a single gatekeeper or distribution partner, the company is building a platform presence across every major ecosystem simultaneously โ€” creating a situation where audience growth on one platform reinforces visibility on all the others.
